How to travel to Argentina in Covid-19 time?

Are the borders open?

In Argentina, the health situation is deteriorating further. Since 5 December 2020, access to Argentine territory from abroad has been exclusively open:
-nationals of Argentinean nationality;
-nationals of other nationalities resident in Argentina;
-nationals of other nationalities with a first-degree family relationship (spouse, parents, children, siblings) with residents in Argentina;

under conditions and subject to meeting the criteria determined in the provisions on the website of the Argentine Ministry of the Interior.

Up to and including 31 January 2021, the Argentine authorities have introduced the following restrictions on access to Argentine territory:

Suspension of air links to and from the United Kingdom. The list of countries affected by this measure may change on the recommendation of the health authorities.

Mandatory seven-day quarantine measure for any traveller authorised to enter Argentina with a negative PCR test of -72 hours.

What do I need to present on arrival (resident travellers)?

  • For residents:

Do I need to present a special permit? Yes. Before boarding, travellers must complete a declaration on their honour from the page http://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/.

Do I need to present a negative test? Yes. A negative PCR test of less than 72 hours is required.

Is insurance necessary? Yes. Travel insurance for Covid-19 care is required.

Do I need to quarantine myself on arrival? yes if you stay in Buenos Aires: you have to do a quarantine during 7 days. For a travel to any other province, check the requirement regarding quarantine and PCR.

 

Is there a curfew?

08/02/2021 Curfews have been lifted in Buenos Aires and in the northwest of Argentina (Salta, Jujuy).

Is there freedom of movement in the country?

What are the rules regarding the wearing of masks?

The wearing of masks is currently obligatory in public places throughout Argentina.

In northwestern Argentina tourism is open for residents: restaurants and hotels welcome travelers from all the country.

 

Domestic flights and buses: what is the situation?

08/02/2021 Domestic flights and bus are operating in Argentina.

The national company Aerolineas Argentinas has already started to operate to various cities in the country.

International flights: what are the options for travelling to Argentina?

Residents of European Union Member States are currently not allowed to enter Argentina.
